Cookie Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

This cookie policy explains how Solar Panels Kilmarnock (solarpanelskilmarnock.co.uk) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our site. We are part of Scottish Energy Efficiency and install solar panels, battery storage and EV chargers across Kilmarnock and East Ayrshire through MCS-certified partners.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time, so you do not have to re-enter them every time you visit. We use cookies to make our site work properly and to understand how visitors use it.

Essential cookies

We use essential cookies to remember your cookie consent choice and to keep the site working. These are set as soon as you interact with the site and do not require your consent. Without them, features like the cookie banner and form submission would not work correctly.

Non-essential cookies

Non-essential scripts — for example analytics or advertising — are off by default. They are only enabled if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your local storage for this site or by clicking "Reject" on the banner. We do not use advertising cookies unless you have explicitly accepted them.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites. We do not use advertising cookies unless you have explicitly accepted them, and even then only for the purpose of understanding how visitors reach our Kilmarnock solar and battery pages.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies from specific sites, and some let you block third-party cookies entirely. Blocking essential cookies may affect the functionality of this site — for example, the quote form may not submit correctly.

How long cookies stay on your device

Essential cookies set by our cookie banner are stored in your browser's local storage and remain until you clear them or withdraw consent. Session cookies used during your visit are deleted when you close your browser.

Types of cookies we use

We categorise our cookies into two types: essential and non-essential. Essential cookies are required for the site to function correctly — for example, remembering that you have already seen the cookie banner so we do not show it again on every page. Non-essential cookies, such as analytics or advertising cookies, are only set if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. If you click "Reject", only essential cookies are used.

Third-party services

Our quote form sends your enquiry through Zapier, a third-party automation service, to our customer management system. This transfer happens when you submit the form, not when you visit the page, and does not set tracking cookies on your browser. We do not embed third-party advertising widgets, social media tracking pixels or remarketing tags on any page of this site.

Your consent choice

When you first visit our site, a cookie banner appears at the bottom of the screen with "Accept" and "Reject" buttons. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage. If you accept, non-essential cookies may be set. If you reject, only essential cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site and refreshing the page, which will show the banner again.

Analytics

If we enable analytics in the future, we will update this policy to explain what analytics cookies we use, what data they collect, and how to opt out. Any analytics would only be enabled after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. We would never use analytics cookies to identify you personally or sell your data.

Do Not Track signals

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because we do not use tracking cookies by default, your browsing experience on our site is unaffected by this setting. If we add analytics in the future, we will respect Do Not Track signals by not setting analytics cookies for browsers that send them.

Accessibility and cookies

Blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of this site. The cookie banner itself relies on local storage to remember your choice — if local storage is disabled, the banner may appear on every visit. The quote form should still work with cookies blocked, as it submits data via a standard form post rather than relying on cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time. The last updated date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. We encourage you to review it periodically so you are aware of how we use cookies.
